FAQs

What is a cremation?

Cremation is the process of reducing the human body using high heat and flame. Cremation is not the final disposition of the remains, nor is it a type of funeral service.

Is a casket needed for cremation?

No, a casket is not needed when you choose cremation services. An alternative container, including urns, will work for these services.

Is embalming required prior to cremation?

Embalming is only required prior to cremation if the funeral service is taking place with the body present before the cremation process. Otherwise, embalming is not necessary.

Can the body be viewed without embalming?

If the body is not embalmed, it will begin to decompose. The embalming process helps to stop decomposition from happening and ensures that the family has more time to honor their loved one. Contact our funeral director.

Pre-planning these things will alleviate some stress for your loved ones.
  • Prevent Family Conflict: If you pass away unexpectedly and you haven’t outlined your funeral or cremation wishes, your family will be left to guess what you would have wanted.
