Vickie DeVaughn Imes King

1953 - 2023

Vickie DeVaughn Imes King departed this life on August 13,2023 at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston Salem North Carolina.
Vickie was the third child of Henry Earl Imes Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Leak Imes. She attended North Davidson Senior High School In Davidson County. Vickie enjoyed her morning coffee while reading and studying The Word of God. Her family was amazed at how she could quote scripture and tell where it was found in the Bible.
When Vickie shared the details of her diagnosis in March 2023 she also said “IF IT IS MY TIME TO GO I AM READY.” She told some “I AM AT PEACE.”
Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry King, her parents and her brothers, PFC Henry Earl Imes Jr. and Carl Jeffrey Imes. There was also a pet that she loved dearly “Dusty”.
Vickie leaves to forever remember her, a daughter, Stephanie Tuttle, a son, Dwight Tuttle and a son, Michael King; grandchildren, Joshua, Jasmine and Jordan Tuttle, D’Asia Tuttle, Michayla and Michael King Jr. and five great grandchildren. Other family members; Shelby, Kenneth, Kameron, Karmen and Kaila Cuthrell; four sisters, Tida (Samuel) Williams, Crystal (Lance) McByers, Priscilla Imes and Earlene (Quin) Lorick; a brother, Jester Imes Sr. Auntie Mommy Bernice Hairston, a host of aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews and many, many cousins and Pastor and Mrs Howard Chaney.
