Tony Wilson Johnson, a veteran of the Vietnam War and resident of Advance, NC
entered eternal life on October 19, 2023. Tony, as he was known to many in the area, was
born November 12, 1947 in Statesville, NC, to Samuel and Mrytle Johnson and attended
school in Davie County before enlisting in the Air Force at the age of twenty. As a police
officer in the military, Tony saw action in Vietnam, and he had many amazing stories of his

The Air Force recognized Tony for his honorable service with five different metals,
specifically for his heroic action in Battle. Tony was proud of his time served.
After he left the service, he took a security job at Baptist hospital where he became a
security supervisor and finished out his career and retired there. Tony was a noble man,
always helping and caring for everyone around him.
“We are all stories in the end, remembered by the adventures we had, the
achievements we made and the people we loved. So, make sure your story is a good one.”
