Tilda C. Stewart

Tilda C. Stewart, 70, of Winston Salem, NC transitioned on August 20,2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Medical Center.
She was born October 12, 1952, in Axton, Virginia, the oldest daughter of the late, William T. Coles Sr, and Cleotilde Coles. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William T. Coles Jr.
Tilda was a loving and devoted wife, to Willam R. Hairston Jr, mother to daughter, Tawqua D. Stewart and Son Scottie T,
Stewart and grandmother to Gabrielle C. Hairston. She was a loving Sister to five brothers; Robert T, Coles (Katie), of
Martinsville, VA; Albert T, Coles (Jackie), of Danville, VA; James Coles (Edna), of Axton, VA; John Coles(Hollie), of Axton, VA and
Martin Coles of Prince Frederick, MD; two sisters, Cynthia Hodge(Jesse), of Axton, VA and Sheryl Coles, of Atlanta GA, and
a host of nieces and nephews. Tilda went on to work at the Department of Taxation in Richmond, Va. She also worked at Tultex in Martinsville, Va, and she went on to work at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center where she retired. She was also a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 2pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1710 Lewisville-Clemmons rd. Clemmons, NC, 27012
