Scott Cameron Young, 62, passed peacefully on September 19, 2023 at Kate B. Reynolds
Hospice Home in Winston Salem.
Scott was born on February 1, 1961 in Mecklenburg County to Charles Young and Phyllis
Maultsby. Scott had a passion for anything with a motor. Scott spent many years doing
mechanic work. He loved to use his hands and even built two houses during his life. He loved
riding motorcycles, dirtbikes, ATVS, and being anywhere on the water. Scott was a man with
many talents and a good sense of humor who enjoyed watching sunsets.
Scott was a great father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed and never
forgotten.
Scott is preceded in death by his father; Charles Young; and brother; Sam Young.
Survivors include his Mother; Phyllis Young; son Danny Young (Gena); grandson Cody Young;
two sisters; Catherine Young (Richard), Lara Hanks (Brad); brother; Ted Young; nephew Aaron
Young; and two nieces; Kendall and Haley.
I got a chance to tell Scott how grateful I am for the steadfast love and care he gave to my sister, Phyllis, and to Charlie and Sam. I also appreciated the joy he expressed when he became a grandfather, and the love he expressed for his family. RIP Scott.
