Richard “Rick” Lester Hutchins, 69, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Born on February 3, 1957, and raised in Winston-Salem, Rick was the son of the late Lester James “LJ” and Bobbie Jean “Barbara” Hutchins. He lived life on his own terms and found joy in the outdoors. Whether he was casting a fishing line, hunting, riding horses, or sharing stories and laughter with his buddies, Rick created memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rick is survived by his son, James (Jennifer) Hutchins; his daughter, Julia (Nathan) Zebron; his grandchildren, Macie, Ryan, and Noah Zebron; his stepgrandchildren, Randall and Brayden Fisher; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Bobbie Jean Hutchins, and his brothers, Michael, Ronald, and Brian Hutchins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor his life, share memories, and celebrate Rick and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew and loved him.
