Martha Miller

1946 - 2022

Martha Miller, 75, of Winston Salem, NC , went home to be with Jesus, surround by her family on March 26, 2022. She died from natural causes and went peacefully in her sleep.
Martha was predeceased by her parents, James Ragan and Evelyn Hedrick, her sister Carolyn Holcomb, and a very special niece, Stacy Ragan.
She is survived by two daughters, Trish Canter (Scot) and Kim Sides, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, brothers Charles and Jimmy Ragan, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends at Shuler’s Assisted Living Home.
Martha worked for Indera Mills for about 35 years, first as a sewing machine operator and quickly moved to supervisor, and then as an engineer. She loved her time at Indera Mills where she made many friends and felt like she worked with family. After Indera, she worked 10 years at Aigis as a quality control manager before retiring in 2012.
Martha enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds, printing off pictures of her family, and shopping on Amazon. She discovered her passion for that type of shopping within the last year of her life and wish she had discovered it earlier. She could hardly contain herself when the Amazon truck would come and deliver something to her! Martha was a friend to all she met, never meeting a stranger. She also had a passion for animals, taking in any and all stray cats or dogs. We never knew what new animal would be at her house when we visited!
She was a very special person and will be terribly missed.
Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 2 pm. There will be a celebration of her life following the service in the fellowship hall. All are welcome to attend.
Location: Wallburg Baptist Church, 5341 Wallburg Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107
