George Sweat
1949 - 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Carol Sweat, a devoted father, cherished grandfather and hardworking man, who passed away on April 5, 2026 at the age of 77.
Born on January 3, 1949 in Coffee County, Georgia. George lived a life rooted on Sweat Hill Road in dedication, strength, and love for his family. He was known for his strong work ethic and spent many years working as a Tradesman, providing for his family and setting an example of living life to the fullest.
As a father, he was a steady guide, a protector, and a source of wisdom and support. As a grandfather, he was a constant source of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. He treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying time together.
George will be remembered for his kind heart, his strength, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. His presence brought comfort to those around him, and his legacy lives on in the values he instilled in his family—hard work, compassion, and love.
He is survived by his loving children Rhonda, Julie (Billy), and Tonya (Sammy), Randy and 10 grandchildren and 5 adoring great grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Clyde Sweat and his sweet sister Linda.
Though he is no longer with us, his love and lessons will continue to guide us, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Your love and light will be what get us all through without you. You taught us many, many values and lessons but you never taught us how to live without you! But I know you are our guardian angel now and you will always be right here for all of your babies!! We are going to miss you forever! I promise to keep your memory alive and never let the babies forget you! Go rest high on that mountain, pain free. You get to visit all the beautiful places that you haven’t seen yet now.

My dear sweet daddy I don’t hardly know what to say, God gave me to you and to my sweet mama sandra and mama judy so you see I have lost all 3 of you what am I to do I learned a lot of this crazy life’s values early on much more and quicker than most the way I had to learn was to sink or swim unfortunately I sank quite a lot but swim never I bragged about you a lot about how you could fix things and how they lasted a lifetime or longer. Right now I’m sinking so fast and no one to life to lift me up but God. I know I will see again soon, you can rest easy now while julie, tonya, and along with the Sewat Tribe learn to navigate in this world without you Love you to pieces Daddy and I miss like it’s been forever already.
My dear daddy I’m at a lost for words and me you know I was not at a loss for words never not me but now all i do is cry is mostly tears I was not at all prepared for this day not at at all especially the way you went thought I would have a little more time 5 years or so. I lost mama, way too early mama judy and now you so what am I to do and my sisters and I how do we pick up the pieces and start to navigate this world without you thx to you daddy mama and mama judy us 3 girls are who we are because of the fantastic parents you 3 were I love yaw see you soon
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your father. George was always smiling and doing things George Sweat style. Also doing his talk to make others feel loved. He touched the life’s of many with his kindness. His spirit and love lives on in his family. He will be greatly missed.
