Frankie Lee Flinchum
1945 - 2023
Frankie Lee Flinchum (Shelton), 78, of Walnut Cove sadly departed this world on October 21st, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center following a brief illness to begin her new life in heaven. She was born at home to Mary Lou (Martin) and Paul Franklin Shelton on February 25th, 1945. She was a vibrant, classy, and colorful lady – a social butterfly to her core, with many friends. She loved God, her family, friends, and shopping – those shopping channels didn’t stand a chance. In this life, she was so much to so many. She was the one you could confide in, who cheered for you and made you laugh, who would not judge you by your worst moment, and the one who supported your endeavors. She graduated school from Francisco High School in Westfield, NC. She took much pride in being a CNA and caregiver for over 25 years. Her patients, both long-term and short-term, adored and appreciated her. She was a loving, devoted wife of 42 years to John Wesley Flinchum (Johnny) until his passing. Family was always most important. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the “apple of her eye”. Frankie is survived by her sister Alease, niece Sherri, children Lee (Dwayne) and Wesley (Lisa), grandchildren Kathryn, Cole, Ethan, John (Courtney), Travis (Adonna), Steven (April), and Sausha (Brandon), and great-grandchildren: Taylor, Isabella, Tristen, Johnny, Hayleigh, Jacob, Jackson, and Sterling. As well as her beloved dog, Baby. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou and Paul Franklin, her husband Johnny, and her nephew Eddie. There will be a celebration of life held from 4 to 6 PM on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 at Palmyra Methodist Church on HWY 8 in Walnut Cove.

Frankie was a true friend and adopted aunt! Her kindness and laughter brought so much light and love to the world. I know my mom and Frankie’s best friend, Janice Beamer, was there to greet and welcome Frankie into heaven. Happy for them and the happiness they now have; sad for those of us that have lost such a precious soul. ❤️
Lee, Wesley sending prayers for you and all your family. Many memories of our childhoods growing up in the same area. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🥲
