Delia Morgan

1942 - 2025

Delia Morgan of Winston Salem, NC went to her heavenly home Tuesday evening, January 7th, 2025, she was 82 yrs old. Delia was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to the state of New York at a young age. She’s survived by her husband James Morgan, daughter Natalie Wallace, daughter-in-law Irene Conte, grandsons: Dareo, Matthew and Jenaro. Granddaughters : Jlenia and Mikayla and great granddaughter Gigi. Sisters: Lydia, Evelyn and Mary and brother Robert. She was preceded in death by her son James Morgan. She was in home hospice care and passed away peacefully and quickly in the presence of her daughter, Natalie, her grandson, Matthew, and family friend, Patricia Blackwell. Delia was a woman of faith who loved Jesus and loved telling the story of when she lived in New York and someone once spoke a prophetic word over her. He told her that she would be the mother of many. She didn’t understand at the time what he meant but later realized that the prophetic word he spoke over her was fulfilled through her job, which she considered her ministry. She would often pray for people at work and help out anyone in need. Everyone there affectionately called her “Mom” or “Grandma”. She would often cry telling this story recognizing how good God is and how that word spoken over her so many years ago was fulfilled. There were also many that came into her job who would do anything to help out “mom, the love was mutual. Delia also loved to sing and dance to Christian music and supported the local Christian station among other charities. She was also beyond faithful in the giving of her tithes and offering. She was a longtime member of Agape Faith Church in Clemmons, NC.

Mrs. Delia and Mr. James were the first friends that we made at Agape Faith Church when we started going in 2013. She was a great lady and great friend. I would love to hear her stories about what she did at work and how she would do everything she could to help out those families and how those little children would react to something that she would do for them. She also shared a lot of things about her life and things about her family with my family and I. Mrs. Delia will be missed but she was a blessing to my family and I throughout the years and we are grateful and blessed to have had her in our lives. We miss you grandma

Delia was a prayer warrior as well my husband and I started going to Agapefaithchurch in2015, that’s when we met Momma Delia an Papa James we met at Pastor Susan awaken prayer Wednesday nights in the youth Sanctuary. My husband and I became close friends and family with the Morgans. In my culture we referred to them as elders and typically called them Momma or Grandma and Papa out of respect for them . They would come every Sunday morning faithfully and there seats were right behind Samuel and me . Some times the Spirit of the Lord would have us pray for each other and lay hands on one another before and sometimes during service. I will never forget her kindness nor her kind smile. When my husband went home to be with the Lord in 20/19 Momma Delia and Papa James would have a blessing in her had to bless me , she called me her daughter as well . She walked in faith and lived by faith each and every day of her life on this earth. Not perfect but a woman of God for sure. I and others will miss and do miss her dearly. The back row seat is not the same without Delia and her Mr. James. I love ❤️ you both and your family. Your daughter, and sister Deborah

Aunt Delia has always been the most loving compassionate person I knew. She opened her door to everyone. She loved everyone it didn’t matter about there past or present she accepted them the way they where. She was always hard working and always gave others what ever she had to help them. She will definitely be missed by many and was loved by so many people. Our family definitely lost a great person but we know God has a plan for her and she is in paradise now celebrating with Jimmy and all our family we lost through the years! Till we all meet again rest in peace we love you!😘

What can I say about my dear friend ’Delia’? I don’t think there is enough that I can say and not enough time to say it in. I met Delia over 28 years ago at the church which my husband and I were attending. It was located in Long Island NY. The church at that time had home meetings which were called ‘Act 2 Groups’. These groups met every Wednesday night for about two hours for Christian Bible Study and Fellowship. My husband and I were very new to the church, so when I called to find out about the groups, they gave me two choices and as the Lord would have it, and I forever thank Him for it, I choose Delia’s home in Levittown. This was definitely a Devine appointment from the Lord.
There upon my arrival, I found a very small petite lady, who was a Fireball of Love, Grace, Generosity and Class. It was her lifestyle and love for Jesus that attracted me to her the most. The love of Jesus just flowed out from her very being. Her genuine warmth and love captured my heart. Delia, my sister and my friend, you truly are an example of Jesus to me. Oh, how I would love to hear her sing ‘she sang like an angel’. I never told her that because I was a little jealous, I can’t sing a lick, so I would just drink in her melodic voice whenever I heard her sing.
Now, don’t get me wrong we had our moments of laughs and our moments of tears, moments of faith and moments of doubts, moments of discouragements and moments of victories but through it all, the presence of the Lord sustained us. It didn’t matter that after she moved to NC there were miles between us, in our hearts there was no distance. We knew we were there for each other, a friendship made in heaven.
One thing I remember the most, I will always remember the special expression Delia would have when she heard something which was funny, something that tickled her inners, or something that she found pleasing. Her head would tilt up and to the side, her eyes would squint and close in glee, as her head would do a split second bob of joy and she would have the biggest smile on her face and a short little laugh too and all this in a matter of a second. Her expression of joy will be forever sketched in my mind and in my heart.
We miss you dearly, but we also know you are smiling and laughing where you are, in the Arms of Your Beloved Lord and Savior, and singing with the angles. We will hear you sing again, we will see you dance again, it’s only a matter of time my dear friend, only a matter of time. We will sing and dance together then and for eternity. The only tears we will have will be of Joy Unspeakable and Full of Glory, see you then.
