all who knew him.

those closest to him, always finding joy in the company of his family and friends. In 2014, David married
the love of his life and together they built a warm and nurturing home, creating a strong foundation for
their family of 7. Outside of work he adored being on the sidelines and supporting his kids in every way
possible. He enjoyed hiking and being in the mountains and the beach and lake brought him peace and
fulfillment. He was always the life of the party and had a magical way of effortlessly bringing laughter
and making everyone around him feel valued and included. Though his time with us was brief, David
lived a life full of love, friendship and adventure touching the lives of many in his community. His
kindness and bright smile will be remembered always.

David will always be with us, in spirit.

And, oh boy… did he have spirit.

He lived and loved more than any friend I’ve ever had. He helped me more than anybody probably knows.

He cared so much for everyone and everything in his life.

We’ll share more together, when the time is right… but for now- Brooke, if you or any of the kids need ANY thing at all, Laura and I are very much here for you.

Our hearts are broken, but we’re appreciative of the time we had with him…

I’m going to be at a lot of Oliver’s competitions, from now on. I hope that’s OK.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Brooke and the entire family. I had the opportunity to grow up (as a kid) in the same neighborhood as David and I always looked up to him. He always had a smile on his face and was one loyal friend. So sorry to hear of his passing. – Wesley, Paige, and Samantha Riley

David was a special and huge part of my life 6th-12th grade. We lived near each other and would ride bikes, have ping pong tournaments, swim at the local pool and just hang out for hours with the other kids in the neighborhood. When I think of him I seriously think of happiness. Those were some amazing years. He had the BIGGEST and brightest smile. Boundless energy! I definitely remember that. He had an infectious, positive attitude and was a very dear friend. I will always cherish the friendship we had. I’m sure his big bright spirit is surrounding us, especially his family. I’m sure he will show up and let you know he’s watching over you in his own special way. I’m thinking of you all and sending every ounce of my love to you.

David inspired me to challenge myself when I first came to Cook. He gave me the opportunity to apply to the R&D group when I was still new and had no experience in this field. He supported my dreams and told me to never give up and his never-ending support and friendship helped me to grow and become the person I am. David had such a passion for helping others and always spoke about his family. He loved his wife Brooke and his 5 kids more than anything else! He will be greatly missed and I can only hope that his family is beyond proud of the man, father and friend that David was and always will be.

My thoughts and prayers are with David’s entire family at this difficult time. David worked with me on occasions over the last 22 years at Cook and when I visited North Carolina from Ireland he was always one of the welcoming smiles and joyous interactions you could experience. Over the years we would have met up socially outside of work either in Winston Salem or in Limerick Ireland and this is where the real David appeared and you got to know a great fun guy, infectious smile and heartiest laugh. He spoke of his family always and wanted to get to know more about you and your family. A great person.
    Taken too soon!!!

What a guy ! We Both worked for Cook , I was there for 21 years and not once did I pass him in the hall, outside , eating lunch , it didn’t matter he always smiled and spoke . He would always ask about my kids and grandkids and gush over the “girl “ he met . ( Brooke) ❤️ and his beautiful kids . He will be missed by so many that had the chance to know him . I will be thinking of you Brooke , “His girl” and those precious children as days go by . Stay strong !
