Dana Alton Martin
1955 - 2025
Dana Alton Martin, born August 16, 1955, passed away on March 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and unforgettable memories.
Dana was the son of Bobby Alton Martin and Corena Miller Martin Hall, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his sister, Penny, and his brother, Bill. He is survived by his siblings, Gina Johnson (Rick) and Todd Martin (Renee) and sister in law Libby Martin; his daughters, Penny Belk and Nikki Whittaker (Clark); his seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry his spirit forward.
A dedicated and hardworking construction man, Dana took great pride in his craft, with his work even being featured in Southern Living. He was a man of grit and determination—stubborn, hardheaded, and hot-tempered at times—but beneath that tough exterior was a heart of gold. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
Dana found joy in the simple things—fishing on quiet waters, watching old westerns, and spending time with the family he cherished. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and the lessons he imparted will live on in those who knew him.
A celebration of Dana’s life will be held at a later date for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by casting a line in his name or watching a classic western in his honor.
