Carla Lang
1951 - 2025
Carla Lang, 73, of Winston-Salem, passed away, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at her home.
Born on May 29, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, she was daughter of the late Arthur C. and Ucma Homsey Lang. She married the love of her life, Garry Cook, on March 31, 1989. Together they shared over 36 wonderful years together. Carla was a well-educated woman, having received degrees from North Park University, Loyola University, and Graduate Theological Foundation.
Carla enjoyed her work and served others as a therapist at pastoral counseling centers, a therapist at a private practice, and a pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She enjoyed many hobbies including music, reading, drawing, archeology, and space science.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Garry Cook; stepdaughter, Amy Elizabeth Graham; step-grandchildren, Jacob Graham, Ben Graham, and Maddie Graham; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to National Public Radio “NPR” or Public Broadcasting Service “PBS”.
