Bulah Geyer
1927 - 2025
Bulah Geyer, age 97, went to her heavenly home on February 19, 2025.
Born March 11, 1927 in Akron, Ohio, she lived in Jeffrey, WV, Newark and
Belford, NJ, and Winston-Salem, NC. She married the love of her life,
William “Bill” Geyer, in 1948. They spent many happy hears together,
raising their son, Brian. After Bill’s death in 1988, she continued to live in
Belford, NJ for another 20 years. In 2008, she planted her Southern roots
in Winston-Salem, NC, to be near her son, Brian and his family. She
enjoyed many years as a resident of Creekside Terrace, Heritage Woods
and Healy Towers. Bulah was known for her love of cooking, crafts and
plants.
She is survived by her son, Brian, and his wife, Diana, of Lexington, NC;
her grandson, Matthew, of Hoover, AL; her granddaughter, Mary Beth, and
husband, Dr Daniel Bordicks, and great-granddaughter, Emily Bordicks, of
Salisbury, NC. They will forever cherish the time they spent with her and
the fond memories of her stuffed cabbage (which she looked forward to
making each year for Matthew’s WV deer hunting trip).
Family and friends also cherish the memory of baby blankets which she
crocheted for their children and grandchildren. The family also appreciates
the special friendship of Myra Morris and Dennis Threatt, her dear friends
at Healy Towers, who adopted her as their Momma and Grandma.
Bulah was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Bulah Mantlik;
sister, Margaret Mantlik; and brothers, Anthony and John Mantlik. She will
be sorely missed by their families also.
