1937 - 2025
Betty Ray McAlpin, 87, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on February 5, 2025, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville.
Born on November 25, 1937, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Ray and Pauline Teague.
Betty was a lifetime member of New Mt. Vernon Methodist Church. She worked at Owens Illinois in Midway for over 25 years. Betty also volunteered at Forsyth Medical Park Hospital for 10 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Beeson and Carroll McAlpin; and her brother, Robert Teague.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sharon Sink (Keith); step-daughter, Suzanne Fowler (Sam); grandchildren, Sabrina Sink Walser (Shane) and Wesley Sink (Ally); great-grandchildren, Hailey Walser, Taylor Walser, Caden Sink, and Lilly Sink; brothers, Gerald Teague (Sandra) and Danny Teague (Elaine); nieces, Erica Teague Ness and Yvonne Teague Orchard; and nephew, Jeff Teague.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at New Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:15 AM – 11:00 AM, prior to the service in the sanctuary.
The family would like to thank the staff at Piedmont Crossing for the compassionate care provided to Betty over the last three years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Samaritans Purse for Western Carolina Relief Aid.
I have such fond memories of Betty (Nanny). She was a bright soul and she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
