Barbara Surface Mullies

1964 - 2026

Barbara (Bobbie) Surface Mullies was born on July 6th, 1964 to her loving parents Jeanette Brown Surface and Kelly Surface in Forsyth County and passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2026 surrounded by her family. Bobbie was a hard working and caring woman, who would go out of her way to assist anyone that she could. Her hard work and dedication to assisting others is what drove her to success in her 27-year career at Hayward Industries. Her dedication to her work could be felt by everyone she came in contact with. Aside from her work, Bobbie was known for her loving personality, sense of humor, extravagant Christmas decorations, love of reading and most of all, her dedication to her hairstyle. Her presence was always something that could be felt in any room that she entered and she had touched many lives over the years. Bobbie’s number one passion in life was her commitment to being the best wife and mother to her loving husband Rex, of over 40 years, and their daughter Jeannie. Bobbie’s love, dedication and pride in her family was no secret to anyone. The love that she showed to them will no doubt be carried with them to the end of time.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her Mother Jeanette Brown Surface, her Father Kelly Surface, sisters Beverly Surface Arnold and Thelma Rae Stewart as well as some of her nieces and nephews.

Bobbie is survived by her husband Rex Mullies, daughter Jeannie Mullies (Kendall Keever), her brother’s Larry Surface (Angie Surface) and Butch Surface (Becky Surface) and her sister Shelvia Barry.

Bobbie’s family would like to share a special thank you to the caring staff at Trellis Hospice Care, her fellow co-workers at Hayward Industries and everyone for their love, support and prayers during her battle with cancer. Per Bobbie’s wishes, in leu of flowers and a service, a Celebration of Life will be held in the fall of 2026. Donations to the American Cancer Society can also be provided in her Memory via mail at “American Cancer Society: P.O Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.”
