Donnie Cheek
1942 - 2025
Donnie Kay Hill Beauchamp Cheek passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025. Donnie was born on July 4, 1942 in Forsyth County and died at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at the age of 83. She was the daughter of Carl and Bessie Jane Hampton Hill. In 1958 Donnie married the love her life, the late Thurman Odell (Doc) Beauchamp. She is survived by one daughter, Denise Beauchamp Knight and husband Ken Knight, two grandsons, Jacob Y. Conrad, and Austin B. Conrad and wife Amanda Conrad, along with two great grandchildren, Kimber and Caden Conrad . Donnie is preceded in death by her only sister, Janice (Sissy) Taylor and survived by two brothers, Roger L. Hill and Hilton G. Hill. She treasured many cherished memories of the Beauchamp family.
Donnie retired in 2006 after 29 years of service at L.A. Reynolds Garden Showcase. Her love for flowers and helping customers with their gardening needs was something everyone noticed about her. Her love language was gifts and she always liked sharing even a tomato or vegetables out of the garden. She was a wonderful cook who loved being in the kitchen trying new recipes. Donnie was an avid lover of hummingbirds and most summers throughout the years had more than 25 feeders in her yard at a time. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and decorating her home and yard. More than that, she loved her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
We would like to invite family and friends to her celebration of life to be held at Sharon United Methodist Church, 5330 Sharon Church Road, Lewisville, NC, 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 2, 2025. Family visitation will follow immediately after the graveside service.
The family would like to extend a “Thank You” to the doctors and staff at Novant and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their loving care. Also, a special “Thank You” to Dr. Christopher Phillips, MD for his caring compassion.
