Wilma Dale Hester

Wilma Dale Hester, 77, of High Point and Hope Mills, NC passed away Friday, December 12, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Memorial Center.

Wilma was born on December 16, 1947, in Bladen County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Luther Bryan and Lena Burney Bryan. In her childhood years, she often helped in the tobacco fields and was a stellar student at school. With her marriage to her late husband, Jason, she transitioned away from her studies to begin focus on building their family.

She and Jason worked tirelessly to maintain their home business, and she supported him as a mechanic. Later in life, she slowed her pace, taking time to enjoy exploring new friendships and even going to a Bill Gaither concert! Most around her know her love for not just her family, but also her animal companions, a cold Coke, and a Little Debbie cake (especially Nutty Buddies).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Earl Hester and her brothers Percy Bryan and Dewey Hubert Bryan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Bobby Earl Hester of Lumber Bridge, NC; daughters Janice Rupert of Wilmington, NC; Jennifer Hester Erickson of Lumber Bridge, NC; Briauna Hester Adams of High Point, NC; sister, Ella Dean Kinlaw of Lumberton, NC. She will be greatly missed by a plethora of children and great grandchildren, especially grandson Cody Erickson and great-grandchild Oaklynn Adams.
