Wayne Douglas McKean, age 53, of Winston Salem North Carolina, passed away tragically Sunday, Feb 8th, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born August 26th, 1972 in Glenn Falls New York. He was the son of late Wayne McKean and late mother Stella McKean. Wayne was also a devoted husband to his wife Juanita McKean of 33 years & Family.
Wayne was a jack of all trades and a master of many. Perfecting everything he put his mind to. He was leader dedicated to his craft. Wayne held numerous certifications such as forklift licensing, OSHA certifications, certified swing stage scaffolding license, and EIFS professional.
Wayne’s hobbies included church, fishing, hunting, four wheeling, working, and spending time with his family.
Beyond just his work, he was a phenomenal husband, father, grampy, brother, uncle and beyond. He was a kind man, a place of peace to so many. Hard as nails, but soft at heart, honest, and just a bad ass.
Surviving in addition to his Wife Juanita McKean are Daughter Kimberly McKean and family, Daughter Stephanie Downs and Family, and Son Christopher McKean and Family.
Wayne will forever be remembered as a remarkable man who lived with purpose, loved without limits, and made life beautiful. Though his time here was cut far too short, his impact will last forever.
