Virginia Anderson Green
1945 - 2025
Virginia “Ginnie” Anderson Green, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Winston-Salem on March 22 surrounded by loved ones. Born Feb. 16, 1945 in Fredericksburg, VA, to parents Hermann B. Anderson and Mildred Clements Anderson, Ginnie touched the lives of everyone she met. In 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Raymond Green. Together they had two children: Peter Anderson Green (deceased 2004) and Kristen Green Jordan. Ginnie is survived by her husband, daughter, brother, H.B. Anderson Jr., son-in-law James Eric Jordan, and twin grandchildren Alex Reece Jordan and Jenna Rae Jordan.
Ginnie accomplished much during her beautiful life. In 1964, she completed a 1-year executive assistant course at Smithdeal-Massey Business College. After settling down and starting her own family, she went on to have a prolific 22-year business career at Aamarr Garage Door Company. In 2004, with the birth of her grandchildren, Ginnie retired and spent the best years of her life being a loving grandmother.
A gentle and caring soul, Ginnie volunteered at Forsyth Memorial Hospital and several other organizations including Knollwood Baptist Church, where she was a congregation member for nearly 50 years.
Some of Ginnie’s favorite things included reading, traveling, singing, dancing, going for a leisurely drive, cooking, and, most of all, spending time “chit-chatting” with her family and friends.
Ginnie was a beautiful, kind-hearted, and selfless Woman who cared deeply for those around her. She was known as a light to many people and will be dearly missed by all.
Memorial services will be held a 2 p.m. on March 28 at Knollwood Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.
In lieu of flowers or other material sentiments, the family wishes that anyone who can please give to Trellis Supportive Care of Winston-Salem (Hospice) for their dutiful care to Ginnie over the last few months.
