Terry Lee Colter
1948 - 2025
Terry Lee Colter, 76, of Winston-Salem, died on Saturday, February 15, 2025 with his
family present. He was the son of D.J and Beulah Nance Colter (deceased).
Terry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Claudia Greer Colter; his daughter, Jennifer
Lynn Colter; his brother, Daniel Wayne Colter (Kay); sister, Carolyn Colter Barlow; and
many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1966 and graduated in 1970 from
Milligan College in Tennessee. He worked for Colter Electric for several years before
going out on his own.
He was an active member of First Christian Church for 25 years. Terry played on the
church volleyball league and lead the Praise Band for the early service playing guitar.
He was both a deacon and property chair for the church.
The memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at First
Christian Church in Taylor Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First
Christian Church, 2320 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
Terry’s faithful service to our church, particularly through his gift of musical talent, was important to our congregation and to me personally. His leadership of our Praise Band for many years was vital to our early worship experience.
