Susan Elizabeth Vaughan Hewett
1959 - 2024
Susan Elizabeth Vaughan Hewett, 64 of Kernersville, NC passed away September 1,
2024 after a brief illness.
She was born to and preceded in death by her parents, Lois Wiltsey Vaughan and
Richard Wade Vaughan, Sr.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Marty Daniel Hewett; son,
Timothy Vaughan; granddaughter, Destiny Bailey; brothers, Rick Vaughan, Doug
Vaughan (Lisa), and Bill Vaughan (Jackie). She also leaves behind a host of cherished
in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends. She additionally
enjoyed reading, gardening and especially loved animals. Over the years she adopted
many rescue pets, including a potbelly pig named Petunia.
Many will fondly remember Susan’s signature look – tie-dye t-shirt (or something purple),
Birkenstocks and long curly “hippie” hair. She had an infectious laugh and a smile for
everyone she met.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 September 12, 2024 at Deep River Friends
