Patricia Lottes
1929 - 2023
Patricia (Pat) Lottes (Yerkes) passed away on December 30, 2023 while at a care facility in
North Carolina. Her three sons and six grandchildren were all able to spend precious time with
her during the last month. She had just turned 94.
Pat was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio with her four siblings. In February 1948, she
married Merlin Lottes from Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, who she had met through her employment at
F.D. Lawrence Electric. She had a wonderful life, particularly enjoying travel with friends, dress
up parties and conventions, and landscaping her home which she did well into her eighties.
She took up golf, and developed a mean game in short order and soon recorded the first hole in
one in the Lottes family. She never shied from reminding her family of that feat.
Pat leaves behind 3 sons: Douglas (Roberta), David, and Gerald (Susannah), six
Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Merlin
(2008) and Daughter-in-law Donna Lottes.
Pat and Merlin lived in Hamilton for 45 years until Merlin’s retirement in 1986. They then moved
to Ft. Pierce FL and Port St; Lucie FL for a retirement life of golf and fishing. Following Merlin’s
death, Pat lived close to her sons in Gastonia NC, Vonore TN, and New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Mom,
Thanks for being with us for so many years. We love you. All your boys and grandchildren had a chance to to hold your hand and to say their good byes. I hope you were able to feel their love. We know it was tough for you at the end and we were always praying for you. We have been sharing your best stories over the last few weeks and achieving some laughs over our sorrow. We have retrieved Dad’s ashes and we will ensure you will always be with him.
