I’m so grateful for the way I was raised. You were never afraid to be my mother — to put your foot down, to teach me right from wrong, to make sure I did my best. You always let me know I had a mama who cared about me, who believed in me, who was there for me no matter what. Growing up with that kind of love and support made such a difference in my life; it made me who I am today.

I miss the foods you made. No one can make food the way you made it, Mom. You gave food to me with love and your smile. It can’t be replicated. It’s impossible. I learned how to be a mom from you. You were a fantastic mom. I know not everyone can say that about their mothers. I was lucky to have you. Mom, you were fantastic, awesome, loving, creative, giving, and kind. Now that I am an adult I understand how great you were. I learned to give to others and be generous by watching you. I hope you’re proud of the amazing family you’ve raised. Thanks for putting some good humans into the world.

I wish my Victoria were old enough to know you better, but don’t worry. She will be going to know all your funny stories. Of course, I’m going to miss you like crazy, but you don’t need to worry about me. I’ll be okay. I wish we could have more time together, but I want you to know I cherish the times we have had and the time we still have. It hurts to let you go, but I wouldn’t trade one moment of all we’ve shared. I love you with all my heart.
