Michael John Nichols

Michael John Nichols (Mike) 66 passed away peacefully at home in Germanton NC on June 29, 2025. Born on April 16,1959 in Euclid Ohio, he was a devoted husband to Kim for 34 years and a loving father to Catie.

Mike graduated from East Forsyth in Winston-Salem NC and received an Associate’s degree from Alamance Community  College in Burlington NC.

Mike finished a long career as an HVAC technician retiring from Harris Teeter after 27 years of service.He also contracted his own log home and he and Kim sold log home kits for 13 years. Mike’s favorite hobby was playing guitar and trumpet. He played in multiple bands during his lifetime including Unfinished Business and The Triad Praise Band.

Mike also loved fishing and Golf.

Anyone who knew Mike, knew that he was a gentle and kind soul. He was laidback and always took the time to have a conversation with a friend or stranger. Mike will be missed by his friends and all the hearts he touched.

Mike is survived by his wife Kimberly Bennett Nichols; daughter, Catie Nichols (Shane Young);Mother , Charlotte Nichols; Sister, Libby Berrier (Lee); brothers, Tom Nichols, Steve Nichols, Ed Nichols( Darlynn), Jeff Nichols. Mike also had nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly.

Mike was preceded in death by his father John Nichols.

A special thanks goes to Rick and Stephanie Kelley along with the many Hospice workers who participated in his care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 26th at 12pm at The Back 40 Wedding and Events Center weather permitting.
