Melvis L McCarthy passed away on September 27, 2025. She was born on April 26, 1932 to
Alex L. McCarthy and Neva Hackle McCarthy. She was preceded in death by her parents Alex L
McCarthy and Neva McCarthy and 5 siblings, Jo Bailey (Max), Lavern Mickey (Sonny), Sylvia
Speas (E. G.), Polly Shutt (Don), and Hyme McCarthy (Stella Mae). She is survived by 5 nieces and
nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Haven Baptist Church in Winston-Salem on October 18th at
11:00 am.
