Larry Dale Cooper, Sr.

1947 - 2025

Larry Dale Cooper, Sr. , 77, of Germanton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Larry was born, September 3, 1947, in Winston Salem and made his home in Germanton. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam war. He worked for himself doing construction and remodeling for most of his life, finally taking a job with Forsyth County where he retired from. Later in life he found joy in writing, singing and performing Christian music at local nursing homes and churches.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jenny Cooper, brother James Cooper, sons Larry Dale Cooper Jr (Mitzi) and Daryl Cooper (Tammy), Mickey Butner (Gela) and daughter Amy Briante (Bob). Five grandchildren Sarah, Anna, Alexander, Austin and Amber and one great grandchild, Charles.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday July 26th at 1pm at First Baptist Church Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road in Winston Salem. Family will receive friends after the service.
