Juanita Thelma (Dorsett) Goodson, 85, of King, passed away, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her home.
Memorial services to celebrate Juanita’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at King Christian Center, 995 Brown Road, King, NC 27021 with Pastor Randall Smith officiating.
Born on June 26, 1939, in Danville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Ester Dorsett and Lona Mintora (Darnell) Dorsett. Juanita retired from Sara Lee after many years of faithful service. She was an ordained minister who loved to share the gospel, she would preach, pray, and sing an old gospel song whenever she had the opportunity. As a part of her ministry, she focused on helping women who were survivors of domestic violence. Juanita loved to travel with her sister, Dolly, and her niece Karen. Some of her favorite trips were to Israel, Jamacia, and many trips across the country.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Medley; daughters, Sharon Jones, Pamela Medley and Kathy Evans; daughter-in-law, Kim Medley; siblings, Cora (Dolly) Milligan, Roy Dorsett, Aubrey Dorsett, and Oneal Dorsett; and great-grandson, Jacob Honaker.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Alan Medley; daughter, Regina Medley; grandchildren, Amanda Everhart (Brent), Amber Honaker (Chad), Audry Flippin, Mykal Jones (Lissette), Mandy Clayton, and Crystal Clayton; great-grandchildren, Austin Clayton, Danijah Hayes, Joshua Clayton, and Piper Lee Williams; special niece, Karen Gallop; and one great-great grandson on the way, Kodah Lee Hayes.
