Jerrold Jerome Holmes
1951 - 2025
Jerrold Jerome Holmes, age 74, of Lewisville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025.
Born on May 2, 1951, in Elgin, Illinois, Jerrold lived a rich and vibrant life, remembered by all who knew him for his quick wit, sense of humor, musical talent, deep faith, and love of tennis.
Jerrold proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran. During his service, he traveled as part of the USO tour, bringing music and morale to others during the war. His gift for music was a lifelong joy, and he could often be found at the piano, drums, guitar, or harmonica, filling every room with song.
Beyond his music, Jerrold’s passions were wide and lively. He enjoyed tennis, racquetball, rollerblading, dancing, and traveling—always embracing life with energy and enthusiasm.
He is survived by his brothers, Jimmy Holmes and Jeorge Holmes; his sisters, Devonna Armstrong and Judy Salzman; his children, Jeremiah James Holmes, Michele Marie Holmes, Tiffany Alise Hennessy, Brandon Scott Holmes, and Angela Brooke Sayin; his 12 beloved grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and his former spouse, Lisa Brandon.
Jerrold’s greatest joy was found in his family, and his legacy of love, laughter, and music will continue to echo through their lives.
A military funeral service will be held at a later date to honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jerrold‘s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Jerrold will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved him.
Jerrold shared his Christian faith with everyone, He sold my husband nice suits and invited him to church. We always enjoyed spending time with his family. I remember the horse tank pool in your back yard that my boys had fun playing with your kids in the summertime. He will be with Jesus in heaven and we look forward to seeing him again some day in heaven,
I will forever be indebted to Jerrold for picking me up as a 31 year old hitchhiking on a very cold January day almost 45 years ago and inviting me to church. As a result of that invitation, my life has FOREVER been changed. So very sorry for your family’s loss.
Correction, as a 21 year old…
The Angels rejoice and are captivated by his great lyrics and songs he had written. Jerrold was filled with the Holy Spirit and we all could see it shine through his eyes when he smiled. I remember how engaged and interested he always was in conversation and made me feel so important. God hold him in Your loving hands…
