Janet Marie Norman Leamon
1941 - 2025
Janet Marie Norman Leamon, 83, died September 2, 2025, at the Mountain Valley Hospice Home. She was born December 22, 1941, in Winston Salem, NC to the late Mr. Charles A. and Dorothy Fulton Norman.
She was a loving mother that worked at Baptist Hospital as an OR technician. She was a self-taught still life painter. Many of her paintings were the first to be exhibited and sold within the Baptist Hospital hallways.
Once retired from the hospital, Jan continued working as a preschool teacher for her church. Jan loved doing crafts of all kinds, especially knitting. Jan made and donated countless hats for babies and prayer shawls for cancer patients until her last days.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Leamon; her daughter, Zina Loraine Connes and her brother, Charles Terry Norman. Jan is survived by her son, Kip Groce; son-in-law, Lee Connes; her grandchildren, Brandon and Nicole Connes.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at West Lawn Gardens of Memory.
