Gregory Arrington

Gregory Arrington, lovingly known as PaPa,  was called home to be with his Lord on April 2, 2026 with his family and friends by his side. He was married to Sharmin Arrington, his best friend and lifelong  partner in adventure just shy of 28 years.

Greg was born July 15, 1956 in Surry County. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Gladys Moore, Father, John Affigne and adoptive Father, James Arrington.

Greg’s life was based around his family, who he loved wholeheartedly, and his faith. He loved the Lord and shared that love during many opportunities.

He is survived by his wife, Sharmin, two daughters April Mickey (John) and Kim Akers, a son Jimmy Noonan (Meghan), plus eleven grandchildren, Andrew (Randi), Aiden, Hope, Joshua, Luke, Jordan, Hannah, Nate, Corey (Sarah), Kayla, Courtney (Travis) and nine great-grandchildren, Vivian, Daniel, Eden, Jacob, Mckenzie, Carter, Destiny, Elizabeth and Matthew.

Greg found joy in every minute of his life, sharing many special memories with his family and friends. He had an amazing love and talent for music. He was part of the Madricals, a gospel singing group in school and later, blessed many marriages with his voice. He was an avid fisherman, boater, camper and enjoyed many hours cruising the countryside on his motorcycle.

Greg was dedicated in serving others as well as his country. He taught CPR and was a lifetime member of the Winston Salem Rescue Squad for over 20 years where he volunteered doing rescue and running calls as a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician.

He served in the Armed forces for four years reaching the rank of E4.

Greg’s humor, loving heart and enthusiasm for life  will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at Salem Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Street, Winston Salem on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10:00AM
