Dora Lee Wright

1935 - 2022

Dora Lee went to be with the Lord on Nov 28, 2022, at the age of 87. She was born Aug 29,1935 to the late Rufus E Smith and Stella F Smith.

She was preceded in death by her brother Daniel Smith, bother Dewey Smith, brother Dallas Smith, sister Dorothy Blackman and very special grandson Brandon Lee Wright.

She is survived by her daughter Cathie Jarvis (Larry), daughter Bonnie Hill (Rusty), son Berlie Howard (Joann), daughter Lorrie Howard, daughter Shelia Hayes (Tony), adopted son Winford Wilhite, 13 grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Dora was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved her family, the Lord, and would talk to anyone that she met. She spent her life taking care of others for many years working inside the home taking care of children. When the time came to work outside the home, she worked at Knollwood Hall as a CNA until her retirement. Dora Lee had a timeless heart and helped others no matter who they were. She loved spending time with family and friends sitting around on the porch talking and she loved the ocean whether it was vacation or just to get a cup of coffee. Her greatest joy was raising her grandson Brandon Lee who she is reunited with for eternity.

A graveside service celebrating her life will be held Saturday December 10,2022 at 2pm at Woodland Cemetery, Winston-Salem, NC.
