Donna Geneva Hyatt
1943 - 2023
Donna Geneva Hyatt, 80, passed peacefully surrounded by her family at her home Saturday, September 9, 2023. Donna was born January 21, 1943 in High Point, North Carolina to the Rev. Haywood Braswell Hyatt and Verta Geneva Royal Hyatt. Her father preceded her in death in 1997 and her mother in 2005.
Donna graduated from Wilkes High School and attended High Point College. Donna had a rewarding career as a reservation agent at Piedmont Airlines, later known as US Airlines, which she retired from in 1998. She had a love of travel, born from her career, and was able to travel throughout much of the world. Donna spent the last 15 years with her partner Philip, and for the past six of those years living on a farm in King, NC.
She was a unique and loving mother that celebrated both her children in many different ways. Donna was the consummate grandmother and deeply loved her grandchildren. She was a kind and thoughtful person who held fast to her family and friendships.
Surviving are her partner, Philip Van Horn, of King; her daughter, Trena Sides Browning, and husband, Jeffrey Browning, of Gibsonville; her son, Christopher Johnson, and partner Beth Harvey, of Asheville; grandchildren, Sophia Sides, Blaise Johnson and Tiernan Rourk; her brother Gerald Hyatt, and wife, Victoria, of Lexington.
