Carolyn Paige Beshears

1941 - 2024

Carolyn “Paige” Beshears passed peacefully at her home in Winston Salem, NC on December 4, 2024.

She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 15, 1941 to JJ Wilkinson and Lavinia Mills Wilkinson.

Our mother enjoyed gardening, decorating & golf. But the cause closest to her heart was canine rescue. She and her husband fostered and rescued many puppies and dogs over the years.

She is survived by her spouse of 39 years, Billy Beshears; her children, Deanna Swann (Bob), John Delsie, Karen Snow (Mark); two stepsons, Michael Beshears (Patty) and Mark Beshears; grandchildren, Max Pechstein, Tiffany Hall, Ryan, Ashlyn & Mason Beshears & Ayden Snow; and three great grandchildren.

Paige had many close friends, but none closer than the other three members of the fabulous four, Dorene Smith, Dale Spaugh and Brenda Sharpe.

In lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Stepping Stones Canine rescue.

I will miss her so much. The four of us were really ”joined at the hip” and became “ sisters from other mothers.” We had so much fun and had so many funny incidents on our excursions for birthdays each year.
We four formed a bond that others were envious of. Now, tunfortunately, our circle has been broken!!
We lost our identity as individuals in our golf association and gain recognition as “the girls.”

Paige was a no BS take no prisoners kind of Gal. You might not like what she had to say, but if you smart, you didn’t object. She stood by me when I was new to town Because of her Friendship with my Wife of 10 Years Dorene. When others were skeptical of my intentions she was not. The same goes to Brenda Sharpe. I may not have been in the Circle. But was always watching out for the interest and wellbeing of all 3. She will be missed and never forgotten . Richard PS Paige where my Dam Scones! 😢

I will forever have so many memories of Paige. Golf is what connected us. Our trips to Pinehurst every year, our Saturday tournaments, always making sure that there was food of some kind at our gatherings! Our “Wilshire Ladies” will think of her every time we tee it up. Rest in Peace my dear friend!💔

Paige was such a dear friend. We had so many good times on the golf course, restaurants, at her house on the back deck having a “cackle fest” as her son called it…so many places but laughter was always present.
She said I could always make her laugh & I never stopped talking but she loved it!
I will miss her terribly! Friends forever! 💔

Being in a room with Paige was like being in sunshine. She was so full of fun and laughter. Being around her when she was with Dale, Dorene and Brenda was like watching a comedy show. She was hilarious. Her kindness and love of dogs was beautiful to watch. She was a wonderful golfer, even wearing oxygen. She will be greatly missed by all the Wilshire ladies.
