Marguerite “Peg” Sholey
1947 - 2024
Marguerite “Peg” Sholey, born Marguerite Ann Getlein on February 7, 1947 in Derby, CT,
passed away on April 23, 2024 at the age of 77. She was a dedicated individual who cherished
her family and friends. Peg was known for her vibrant personality, her love for social gatherings
and her big heart.
In her leisure time Peg enjoyed crafting, playing bingo and looming. She found joy in these
hobbies and shared her creative spirit with those around her. Peg was an active member of
Trinity Methodist Church where she found solace and community.
Peg is survived by her daughter Amanda Belle Neher, and her husband William “Ken” Neher, Jr,
grandchildren Hunter, Kiely and Zachary Neher, grandson Gabriel Sholey, brothers Joseph
Getlein Jr, and John “Jack” Getlein, sister and brother and law Katherine and Edmund “Ned”
Grace, sister in- law Roberta Getlein, along with many nieces and nephews and cousins. She
was preceded in death by her son Matthew Sholey, her parents Marguerite and Joseph Getlein
Sr and sister-in-law Corinne Getlein.
A memorial service to celebrate Peg’s life will be held on June 1, 2024 at 2pm at Trinity
Methodist Church, 3819 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem NC. Peg’s legacy of love, creativity
and generosity will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
