Mrs. Faye Leeper Muncy

Faye Constance Muncy of Winston Salem, known by those who loved her simply as Connie, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026 at the age of 95. She was born in the lovely small town of El Reno, Oklahoma, the daughter of Milo F. Leeper and Ruth (Hoffman) Leeper.
Connie lived her life with quiet strength, deep faith, and an independent spirit. A longstanding believer in Christian Science, her faith was an important and deeply personal part of her life, shaping the way she understood the world, meeting both its joys and its challenges.
Connie was fiercely independent and private by nature, but she was also brave enough to embrace a great adventure. She and her husband, Paul, made the bold decision to leave Krum, Texas, and move across the country to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There, they helped establish what was then a fledgling business, Muncy Trailer Rentals, and raised their two children, David and Susan. What began as a leap of faith became the foundation for a life and family deeply rooted in North Carolina. Connie also worked as an administrative assistant for Salem College as well as a secretary for Long Engineering, and took great pride in her work both in and outside of the home.
Connie found some of her greatest happiness in life’s quieter pleasures. She enjoyed baking, playing her piano, working around her yard, sewing, arts and crafts, and carefully tending to her houseplants. She could often be found sitting peacefully on her back porch, watching the seasons change and taking notice of the small, beautiful ways nature unfolded around her. She had an appreciation for stillness, for home, and for the simple rhythms of an ordinary day.
But above all, Connie treasured the people she loved. She delighted in warm visits and long conversations with her grandsons, and some of her most treasured moments were simple evenings spent with her daughter, Susan.
She loved both of her children, David and Susan, and in the later years of her life, she came to rely on both of her children, Susan and David (Crystal). Their love and care mattered so much to her, and they remained by her side until the very end.
Connie’s life was not one lived loudly. It was a life built through faith, family, hard work, and an appreciation for the routine and beauty found close to home. Those who knew her will remember her independence, but also the quieter things: the sound of her piano, something baking in the kitchen, plants growing in the windows, clipping newspaper articles and saving them for the person she knew would appreciate them, telephone calls with friends and family, and Connie on her back porch, watching another season arrive.
She is survived by her children, David (Crystal) Muncy and Susan (Lawrence Ramsey,boyfriend) Muncy Hildebrandt ; her grandchildren, Cliff (Sara) Muncy, Chad (Amber) Muncy, and Paul Bradley Ross; great-grandchildren Camden and Carter Muncy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Herman Muncy; her parents, Milo F.(Ruth) Leeper ; her siblings, Ardyth (Calvin) Guth, William (Gloria) Leeper.
Connie leaves behind a life that cannot be measured simply in years, but in the family she helped build, the home she tended, the faith she quietly carried, and the many ordinary moments she made meaningful. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
A celebration of life will be held at 6pm on Monday October 19, 2026 at The Village of Tobaccoville Community Center, 4225 Tobaccoville Rd., Tobaccoville, NC 27050
