Celebrating the Life of Susan Elizabeth Evans
November 9, 1949 – September 16, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother & Friend Sue Evans who entered into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 76.
A woman of boundless energy, and an extraordinary heart, Sue built a life centered around her large, loving family and her adventurous spirit. She approached life as a grand adventure, both in her career and her personal passions. She was a natural people-person, finding success early on as a hotel manager and later as a dedicated salesperson for a variety of businesses. Never one to stand still, she boldly chased a lifelong passion later in life by returning to school to become a certified chef. She delighted in bringing people together around the table, blending her culinary talents with her love for hosting.
When she wasn’t in the kitchen or surrounded by her family, Sue was checking off her bucket list of many exciting travel destinations. She had a profound love for travel, always eager to see new places, and marvel at the beauty of God’s creation.
While we mourn her absence, we rejoice in the assurance that she is peacefully home with her Lord. Her bright smile, adventurous heart, and generous love will be deeply missed but forever cherished by her extensive family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Evans, and two brothers Sam Evans and Henry Evans. She is survived by her beloved Companion James Johnson, sister Edith Reed, sister Sharon Hine, her 4 children; Joe Morton (Robyn), Jennifer Morton, Jeff Morton (Lupita), Jon Morton (Jaclyn), 19 Grandchildren; Comfort Morton, Raleigh Morton (Olivia), Regan Morton, Chase Blackburn (Harley), Carmen Blackburn, Can Blackburn, Chloe Blackburn, Colby Blackburn, Sarah Morton, Susan Morton, Christopher Morton, Jeffrey L. Morton, Joseph Morton, Jonathan Morton Jr., Jeffrey E. Morton, Jennifer Morton, James Morton, Joy Morton, & Jason Morton, & 5 Great Grandchildren.
