Rhoda Dean Henley Casper, 65, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2026 at 10:08pm
Rhoda will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steve Casper; her mother, Janie Henley; father, Royce Henley; her brother, RD Henley; sisters, Debbie and Sharon Henley.
Rhoda is survived by her children, Janie (Junior) O’Neal, Stephen Casper, Chris (Amber) Casper, and Stephanie Moseley; her grandchildren, Kara (Jonathan) Childress, Julie O’Neal, Audrey Casper, and Brayden O’Neal.
She is also survived by her siblings, Bonnie (Emory) Widener, Mike (Alissa) Henley, Peggy Roberson, Stevie (Cathi) Henley and Katie Brady, along with many other family members and friends who were very special to her.
Though her passing was unexpected, Rhoda’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the lives of her family and friends.
A celebration of life is currently being arranged and will be announced at a later date.

I have so many memories of my aunt Rhoda. She was one of the few people mom would let me stay overnight with. I remember playing in her bedroom as a child. She would cook great spaghetti and always had the CLEANEST home. I remember her giving us jars to catch fireflies in when I was small. I would sit at their kitchen table and draw her pictures, always having to ask her how to spell her name because I couldn’t remember and sounding it out never looked right. I remember her giving birth to her son on the same date my grandmother gave birth to my dad decades before and the same date I would give birth to my son on decades later (a great day for great women to have sons apparently). I remember my mom and her having the highest blond hair in the 80s/90s and wishing I had a sister I could match hair with. I remember how she would sit at my mom’s kitchen table and speak about nothing and everything all at the same time. I remember her humor and the SPARK she added to a room. I remember how much she loved her children, all her nieces and nephews, and all of our children. My children still remember her as another “grandma”. I remember her feeling lost without her mom here on earth and I strongly believe her mom showed up on that night to guide my sweet aunt home one last time. I hope she felt so much joy being able to see her again.
I will miss her always and the world feels dimmer now. One day we will all be reunited.

We, at Tender Hands Home Care Agency, send our deepest sympathy to her family during this time. Mrs.Casper is cherished by our caregivers that she allowed to care for her. She definitely has left a mark with us through sharing her childhood stories, her pasta salad recipe and being a beautiful person to be around. I will miss sitting with her in the morning hours and chatting about anything that came to her mind. She will definitely be missed. Family, we are sending you peace during this time.
