Adam Wayne Hawkins
1983 - 2026
Adam Wayne Hawkins, 42, of Arden, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Michael Hawkins and Julie Blessing and raised in Southgate, Michigan, Adam later moved to North Carolina, where he pursued a career as a CNC Machinist at Cummins Inc. He was a devoted husband and father who found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. Adam enjoyed collecting Jordan sneakers, driving his RC cars, attending drag races, and spending countless hours building or fixing just about anything. Not only did he enjoy working on cars, but he also took great pride in detailing them—if there was a car wash nearby, you could almost certainly find him there.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Blessing, and his brother, Jason Bradford.
Adam is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Heather; his three children, Ana, Aria, and Alexandria; his grandson, Rylo; his mother, Julie Blessing; his father, David Long; his biological father Michael Hawkins; his grandmother, Carolyn Clark; his siblings, Jaime Hawkins, Diana Long, and Jerry Hawkins; his nephews, Jason Hunt and Jalen Matthews; his cousins, Samantha Ross and Chelsea Blessing; his aunt and uncle, Roger and Michele Blessing; and his uncle, Howard Blessing.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. To honor his deep roots in both communities, permanent memorials will be established in North Carolina and Michigan at a later date. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him across both states.

Adam was a wonderful husband to my Niece Heather. I liked him from the first day we met him. His love for his family was evident. Great family man. He will be greatly missed.
Adam was one of a kind . I’ll never have another friend like him. I wish things were different. I never would have imagined this happened to him. My heart goes out to his family, we are here if you need us. Love you all.
I met Adam 25 or more years ago. We went to a program for high school kids that needed guidance. He was such a funny guy but extremely sweet. Me and my husband will miss Adam more than we could ever express. He deserved so much more. We will always love and miss him.
