Timothy Lee Phillips
1954 - 2026
Timothy Lee “Tim” Phillips, 71, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his home in Germanton, NC.
Born to the late Clair and Margaret Bailey Phillips, Tim was a devoted husband and father and a proud member of Jefferson Christian Church. He worked in the coal mines until the mid-eighties before moving to North Carolina, where he spent over 30 years with Tri City Mechanical Contractors. A creative soul, Tim could design and build just about anything. He loved animals, always dreaming of adding more to the farm, but held a special place in his heart for his dogs.
Along with his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brothers, Nathan and Mark Phillips, and his son-in-law, William Melton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Peggy Jo Farrington Phillips; his son, Christopher Phillips; his daughter, Rhoda Phillips Melton; and two grandsons, William Melton Jr. (Charlotte) and Joseph Melton (Fiona). A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at a later date.

Tim will certainly be missed. He was a warrior. I met Peggy and Tim and their family at the diner I work at. Our friendship became family after few years. Such a caring and fun filled man. They were always smiling. I always loved to sit with them at my work or their home. May God bless this family in moments and years to come. Love them all very much!!
