Mary Elizabeth Bartell Parker
December 4, 1975 – January 10, 2026

Mary Elizabeth Bartell Parker passed away at the age of 50 in her home in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina. Mary was the embodiment of unconditional love, and her presence made everyone around her feel seen, accepted, and deeply cared for. Her passing is not only a profound loss to her family and everyone she knew and loved, but to the world.

Her kindness and caregiving touched countless lives.

She devoted her career to caring for older adults with Alzheimer’s and dementia and led and organized the Music & Memory program at the Tab Williams Adult Day Care Center, bringing comfort and connection to those she served. Mary’s love reached far beyond her work—she welcomed her children’s friends as family, offering warmth and support to all.

She is survived by her other half, Aaron T. Parker; her children, Kaitlin M. Bartell, Stephanie A. Parker, and Benjamin R. Parker; her sister, Suzanne Davis; her four cherished grandchildren; and two especially dear to her—her lifelong friend, Alexis Thonen, and Alissa Crull, mother of three of her grandchildren.

Mary had a true passion for rockhounding, finding joy in uncovering hidden beauty in the natural world. She was also incredibly funny, with an infectious laugh and sense of humor that filled her family’s life with light and unforgettable moments.

Mary’s legacy is one of compassion, humor, and love without condition, remembered always for her depth of heart and unwavering care for others.

Memorial Service: Saturday, February 14th at  Brookstown Inn, Winston-Salem – 1-3 PM
