Marie Waller Sayers

1929 - 2025

Marie (Waller) Sayers, formally of Lexington North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2025 at the age of 95. Marie passed away in Clemmons, North Carolina where she lived and was cared for by her loving daughter, Edna Lambert. Born in Ivanhoe, Virginia, to Henry and Doshie-Diane (Stoots) Waller, Marie was married to her one and only love, Hasewell E. Sayers, SR until his death in 1995. They were blessed with six children and one adopted child.
In addition to her husband, parents, and 12 siblings, her daughter Pansy Ann Flatt of Virginia, two Son-in-Laws, and three grandchildren, preceded Marie in death. Surviving are children Sandra (Sayers) Byrd of VA, Hasewell E. Sayers, Jr. (Debbie) of NC, Edna (Roark) Lambert of the home, Dr. Martha (Moore) Jordan (Paul) of MI, David M. Sayers of VA, and Candy (Sayers) Perkins (Shane) of VA., 15 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, and 15 Great Great-Grandchildren.
Marie worked from the age of 17, after graduating from High School in Ivanhoe, Virginia, until retirement from Owens-Brockway in Welcome, North Carolina. Following her retirement, Marie cared for the elderly until she was 83 years of age; often caring for people much younger than she. Everyone who knew and loved her will miss her contagious smile, kind and gentle heart, and hardy and sassy sense of humor. Rest well mom, “Granny”, you are loved and missed – forever. You are with your heavenly family now. Please watch over your earthly family until we see you again…
A Celebration of Life will be arranged for family and close friends at a later date.
