Jessee Lee Mullins
February 4, 1955 – December 23, 2024

Jessee Lee Mullins, better known as “Poppy,” peacefully slipped away from his earthly life surrounded by his loving family in the early hours of December 23, 2024. After his diagnosis of lung cancer just one week prior, he kept his family reminded he lived a good life.
Jessee took immense pride in his craft. The good Lord blessed him with hands that could build nearly anything. He spent 45 plus years in the remodeling industry. He absolutely loved to work as well as in his yard. He was known to have the prettiest grass in the neighborhood.
When he wasn’t working, you could always find him sitting on his porch, always welcoming friends and family for a “porch talk.” Nobody left empty handed whether it be an earful of good advice or a sack of tomatoes. He was known to keep folks laughing, never too serious, and always cutting up.
He loved his wife, Teresa, and always bragged about what a wonderful cook she is. He loved to eat her homemade meals. He’d tell folks that’s why he married her.
Jessee’s and Teresa’s home has a love, where everyone felt at home and was always welcomed. Heaven is lucky to have him and so were we.
Jessee was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Jean Mullins, four brothers and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife and partner of 46 years, Teresa Tuttle Mullins, daughter Lauryn Mullins, son, Jaryd Mullins; five grandchildren, Christian “CJ” Doub, Addisyn Doub, Amara Mullins Willey (Garrick), Audrey Mullins, and Emery Mullins and a former son in law Chris Doub. Also, siblings Stella Whitley, William Mullins, Danny Mullins, Steve (Tammy) Mullins and Lisa Jackson.
A celebration of Jessee’s life will be held later, warmer weather permitting.

Teresa I am so sorry for you & the loss of Jesse. He was always friendly and loved a good conversation. I truly enjoyed stopping and sitting on the porch and talking to him. A lot of laughter and great memories. He always bragged about you and your cooking, and your homemade biscuits. And yes they were delicious! I remember you making me two with tomatoes. Many prayers for you and your family. And if you need anything, give me a call. Love you, Chris.
