Joseph Henry Blum
1971 - 2024
Joseph Henry Blum was born on January 21, 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he also grew up. He spent his adult life in Sarasota, Florida and North Carolina. Joe passed away in Winston Salem, North Carolina on December 11, 2024. He is survived by his daughter (Amelia), his brother (Bill), and his sisters (Vicki, Susan, Maryanne, and Katie). Joe is preceded in death by his parents Geraldine and William Blum.
Joe was an amazing friend, brother, and father who will be greatly missed by all. He was personable, generous, kind, big hearted, and charismatic. He loved to watch the Eagles, golf, fish, and cook for others. Everyone who knew Joe has funny stories to tell about him.
A celebration of life will be held at Salem Funeral Home (120 S Main St.) on December 22th from 2 to 4pm. Friends are encouraged to come and share their Joe stories, speaking will start promptly at 2pm. A separate service will be held in Philadelphia on December 28th.
Joe, I really can’t believe you are gone. You were always funny and loving. The world will miss your big heart and I wish it hadn’t been so hard at the end. I hope you finally at peace. Love your cousin Maureen
Joe was a great friend and always willing to help those close to him. He was always the big loud yankee in the room when there was a crowd. When he left a room you couldnt help but notice how much more quiet it became. Rest easy friend…we will all miss you. The silence is deafening.
