Nancy Putnam Griffith
1944 - 2024
Nancy Putnam Griffith passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024 at Clemmons Village Assisted Living in Clemmons, NC surrounded by family after a multi-year journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
Nancy was born in Winston-Salem, NC on April 8, 1944, and later moved to Summit, NJ where she raised her three children. She was a part owner and operator of BJ Putnam’s, a bridal shop in Summit, NJ. She later transitioned to the wealth management industry where she was a financial advisor for over 20 years. In 1993, Nancy moved back to her roots in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in order to be with her family.
Nancy was a dedicated mother and grandmother to all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family came first and was above all else to Nancy, a value she instilled in all those around her. Up until the end, Nancy maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, and love of family.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Shelly Griffith MacArthur (Dan), Courtney Griffith Howell (Mark), Ashley Blair Griffith (Maureen), her ten grandchildren (Tyler Ian MacArthur, Hunter Putnam MacArthur, Chandler Nesbitt MacArthur, Beatrice Salle Howell, Thomas Steele Howell, Ella Blair Howell, Caroline Concetta Griffith, Margaret Putnam Griffith, Emily Dwyer Griffith, James Christopher Griffith), her two great grandchildren (Maverick Ian and Aubrey Marie) and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Nancy Putnam Griffith will be held on August 30, 2024, at 4pm at Mausoleum Chapel, located at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
