Deborah Sue Moss King
1954 - 2024
Loving Mother, Daughter, Sister and Nana: Deborah (Debbie) Sue Moss King of Double Creek,
Surry County, NC passed away after a long hospital stay at Forsyth Hospital on July 23, 2024.
Debbie fought until she absolutely could not fight anymore. Debbie was born on September 26,
1954 in Beckley, WV to Robert (Bob) Franklin Moss and Pearl Marie Daily. She was preceded
in death by her brothers Big Bobby, Mike, Tony, baby Danny, Ricky, Terry, and Danny Wayne;
also her close loved ones Wayne Atkins, Martin Kimmer, Nancy, Sheila (Sheshe), and Susie.
She left behind to cherish the memories; her daughter Michelle and son in law Brandon, her son
Michael, and four granddaughters; Destiny, Desiree, Cassie and Chloe. She also left behind her
couch buddy Lynn and several “adopted children and grandchildren and great grandchildren”;
Misty, Amanda, Carrie, Shannon, Jake, Isaac, Lilly, Josh, Cage, Dustin (Junebug), Cordelia,
Skyler, Logan, Zoey, Matti, Bree, Lexie, Baby Atlas (she never got to meet him) Raelyn, Payton,
a niece Tammy and a great niece Leea of WV; and many, many more close friends. She also
left behind her dogs Blue and Lou Lou, her beloved goat Daisy and her bird. Debbie lived a very
full and wild life. Anything you can think of she did; cleaning houses, painting, detailing cars,
landscaping. She was a homemaker and she did a lot of different things in her earlier years.
Most of all Debbie was a loving mother and nana to so many people. Even if she wasn’t related
to you by blood you were her son or daughter, granddaughter or grandson. She was the type of
person that would do just about anything for you, she would give you her last $20 if you needed
it. She was never one to let someone go hungry, she always had something good cooking in her
kitchen. You could always stop at Debbie’s and she’d feed you, give you somewhere to sleep
and shower or hide (lol). Debbie was one of a kind but she was always straight up with you
about anything and would put you in your place. She will be missed by all. She will forever be a
Fighter!
