James F. White, Jr.

James F. White, Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as “Moose,” passed away on July 6, 2024, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at the age of 71. Born on September 4, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri and later moved to Orlando, FL as a teenager with his family. He lived in Orlando for over 30 years, where he started a family and began a career in the aerospace industry. In 1998, he relocated with his wife and two children to the Mesa, AZ area, where he would live until moving back east to the Winston-Salem area in 2022.

Jim dedicated four years to the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his love for his country and laid a foundation for his future endeavors. After his honorable discharge, he embarked on a long career in the aerospace industry, spending 33 years at Lockheed-Martin. During his time with Martin, Jim worked on the TADS-PNVS systems for the AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter as a test operations engineer.

Beyond his professional life, Jim was a man who cherished the simple pleasures in life. He was a fan of classic country music and enjoyed drinking good Bourbon. He enjoyed traveling and took every opportunity to visit different parts of the country he loved. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family with whom he went on countless vacations and trips, as well as numerous concerts over the years.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Debbie White; his son, Jason White; his daughter, Kellie White; his sister, Judy Pongratz; his brother, Jerry White; four granddaughters; Makena, Hana, Maile and Grace and grandson Alex. He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. White, Sr. and Jean White.

Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, his dedication to his family and country, and as a loving father and grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, sacrifice and humor that will not be forgotten
