James Robert Brunk
1942 - 2024
James Robert Brunk, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 22,2024. He was
born on March 28th , 1942 in Matoaka, WV to the late Floyd Grayson Brunk and Clemmie Brunk.
James graduated from Matoaka High school in West Virginia. He worked many years in construction
and retired from Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools after 15 years. James loved to sit on his
front porch in is chair and drink Pepsi.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Vivian Gunter (Bill) and
brother David Brunk as well as several brother and sister in laws that he thought highly of.
James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joy Gordy Brunk; three daughters, Rhonda Nelson (Chris),
Teresa Hutchens, Regina Ziglar; grandchildren, Jamie Nelson (Brooke), Robert Hutchens (Ashley),
Raymond Hutchens, Kelly Ziglar; great grandchildren, Ashley and Hunter Nelson, Raylen and Leah
Hutchens; Sister Beatrice Belcher; Several Brother and Sister-n-laws; Several Nieces and nephews.
Private Service will be held for immediate family.
