Johnny Arlie Brooks

Mr. Johnny Arlie Brooks, 71, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. He
was born on September 30, 1952, in North Wilkesboro to the late Arlie Ireland
Brooks and Mary Porter Brooks. Johnny was a member of Sonlight Baptist Church
for 16 years where he was an Associate Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent
and worked with Prison Ministry. He also worked for Old North State Club. Prior
to his calling to the ministry, Johnny was the owner and operator of Triple J
Roofing. Johnny enjoyed coaching little league baseball, listening to gospel music
and attending events at church. He was a kind and dedicated soul who most of
all, loved his family. In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his
sister Diane Brooks, brother Randy Brooks and his son Steven Brooks. He is
survived by his wife Debbie Brooks, two sons Josh and Jason (Lori), and daughter
Ashley; brother Ronnie Brooks (Barbara); and grandchildren Amber, Lilly and
Isaiah; and many extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will
be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Sonlight Baptist Church,
1588 Pine Ridge Road, Lexington, NC. Officiating the service will be Scott Steed
and Tony Horn. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at
101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and Sonlight Baptist Church.
