Manuel “Manny” Belaustegui
1962 - 2023
Manuel “Manny” Belaustegui, 60, of Lexington, NC passed away
unexpectedly Friday June 2, 2023 at his home.
Born June 30, 1962 in Manhattan, NY Manny grew up in Queens,
NY, where he graduated from Archbishop Malloy High School and
St. John’s University.
Manny was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed
soccer, decorating for Halloween, and entertaining family and
friends. He coached in various youth soccer leagues for over 20
years and positively impacted the lives of many in the area.
Manny was very proud of his Basque heritage and was happiest
when spending time in the Basque Country of Spain with family.
Manny was preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas Belaustegui
and Maria Louisa Alvarez Belaustegui.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Gray Belaustegui, his sons
Brian Belaustegui (Amanda) and Eric Belaustegui (Marissa), and
his granddaughter Olivia Belaustegui. He is also survived by his
brother Joe Belaustegui (Jeannette), nieces Jane Belaustegui and
Julie Belaustegui as well as a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 23, 2023 at Frank
Vogler and Sons in Clemmons, NC from 6pm to 8pm. His
remains will be laid to rest in Spain.
